According to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act any sponsored compounds that is intended for use in food-producing animals should be shown to be safe and that any food that is produced from animals exposed to these compounds has to be shown to be safe to be consumed by people. Thus this act protects the consumers from harmful exposure to carcinogens.
