Answer #1

13) Ordered: 50 U of 100 U insulin

Insulin syringe contains 40U= 1cc

So 40=1

Then, 50= x

Let x be the patient dosage

x= 50/40 = 1.25cc

Patient dosage is 1.25cc

14) Ordered: 8mEg potassium chloride (oral)

Label: 20mEg/15ml

So 20= 15

8mEg= y

Let y be the patient dosage

y= 15×8/20 = 6ml

Patient dosage is 6ml.

15) Ordered: 40mEg of potassium added to IV solution

Label: 10 mEg=8ml

So, 10mEg= 8ml

Then 40mEg= z

Let z be the patient dosage

40×8/10 = 32ml

Patient dosage is 32ml.
