Answer #1

1.Given

Order :6,000,000 unit

Route: oral

Frequency :6 hourly

Available :4,000,000 unit /tablet

So to calculate the no.of tablet for 6,000,000 U is

Formula :Number of tablet=Strength ordered by physician ÷Dosage strength

=1.3 (6,000,000÷4,000,000)

1 tablet and a 3rd percent of a tablet it can be rounded of to 0.5 so 1 and a half tablet to be given

2.Strength ordered by physician :4mg

Dosage strength=8mg

Number of tablet =strength ordered by physician ÷Doasge strength

=4÷8

=0.5 (half tablet )

Ans:Half tablet to be administered

3.Order:8mg

Strength available :2mg/tablet

So strength ordered/dosage strength

=8÷2

=4

Ans:4 tablet to be given

4.Here the dose ordered is 4mg

Available is 8mg

To get in ratio

Strength ordered/Doasge of 1 tablet

=4/8

=1/2

Ans:1:2 is the ratio and 1/2 is the proportion of the tablet
