18.The typical strength of heparin solution available are

  • 5000 USP units /ml
  • 10000 USP units/ml
  • 20000 USP units/ml
  • 25000 USP units/ml

Medication :Heparin

Dose :15000 U

Route:subcutaneous

Available :20000 U/ml

When 1ml=20000 U

Then ??=15000 U

Cross multiply and divide

= 0.75 (1×15000÷20000)

Ans:0.75 ml to be administered

20.Most of the antibiotics are available in a powder form ,this has to be reconstituted in water or another diluent usually it is distilled water or normal saline
