The nurses on the 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. shift have been complaining to the head nurse that the nurses on the 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift have not been doing the ordered client daily weights, and the physicians are very upset when they make their early morning rounds. The initial action the head nurse should take is to review the log sheet of daily weight flow recording, without blindly believing on complain and quick action. Then call the responsible nurse separately and ask the reason for the incidence and then tell the clinical significance of the weight measurement and counsel regarding the nursing ethics and about his/her duties. And order not to repeat in future. And address her/him that I will notice it again.

In this way the nursing head can effectively manage the conflict.
