Self regulation skills are the children's capacity to react to an emotions expressing in their behaviour. It is a way of how a child responds to a given situation or inbthe environment .This development occurs in the childhood and also in adult hood

The babies are able to self regulate by thump sucking ,having a doll or toy during sleep to soothe themselves

The toddler are able to self regulate by waiting for their opportunities patiently. Some times long waiting time can even make them frustrated

Preschool children self regulate by understanding the environment better.They may exhibit secret to the parents by hiding things when asked for.They may even show anger when their favourite things are seized from them.

The school age children can better adjust themselves to their needs. For example if want to talk to a friend in the classroom during lecture by a teacher

This skills when the children goes into the society makes them adjusted to various scenarios .Able to mingle with other children and share their things with other children .This healthy behaviour improves the child capacity to share thought ideas with others.
