About halfway through their first year Kristy noticed that Jane was always talking about calories and fat whenever they were around food and it seemed to get progressively worse. A few weeks after Kristy noticed Jane's behavior she also noticed that Jane would randomly leave from the group towards the end of their dinner or movie and would take a long time before coming back. At first Kristy did not think anything of it but over the next several months she noticed this behavior more frequently especially after eating a large meal with friends. While this was happening Kate had noticed that Jane kept talking about her weight and how it seemed to be fluctuating quite a bit.
