Answer #1

In this situation the school principal is the gatekeeper. Because he is one having more responsibility for doing benefits to the school children. He is in the position to do beneficial to the students without looking profit to himself. But the local water supply is not a gatekeeper he will perform the work if he gets pay for it or else he never look into the problem.

After identification of the gatekeeper, the organisation should discuss with the school principal and management to proceed with the further steps. The organisation should assess whether the gatekeeper is allowing or limiting their idea and initiatives to the school. Buy-in gives much independent actions to their project. To attain that they should make discussion with school management and know about their norms and limitations they prescribe according to that only they can buy- in and get gain from it.

Gatekeepers are the one having authority or interest to control or allow the action in the community acts. Formal gatekeepers are the elected or the appointed person to have control. Informal gatekeepers are the persons who have self interest or self initiation in community acts. In this scenario, formal gatekeepers can be principal( He is the appointed gatekeeper) . Informal gatekeepers can be local water supply, local voluntary organisation(They can be the gatekeeper only by their own self interest).

If the organisation buy-in all the gatekeepers in the local community. The gains they get from it are they can promote their organisation by this initiation in the community by the local people itself. By this they can find flexible in the initiation and get profit from it.
