Treatment of Cystic Fibrosis kids is one thing that has drastically changed. They used to be in the hospital for a month at a time and they were able to be around each other. These days they are in the hospital for a week and they are isolated., if they are even admitted. What are some changes that you have seen due to EBP and how has it changed how you treat the patients?

1 EBP uses outcome research and other current research to guide the development of appropriate strategies to deliver care which is of high quality and cost-effective.EBP has as improved quality care,through the success of symptom management such as pain,fatigue,nausea.it has increased patients perception of health care by providing effective communication ,consideration of cultural and religious beliefs ,respect,empathy and caring attitude.it helps in improving professional expertise by increasing the knowledge and competancy of staffThe potential outcomes of integrating EBP into practice related to patient are

  • Reduced length of stay and readmissions.
  • Reduced mortality and morbidity.
  • Improved patient satisfaction

The organizational impacts are it

  • improved recruitment,retention and satisfaction of nurses.
  • Higher percentage of nurses pursuing or attaining advanced degrees.

2 An evidence based clinical environment   helps in developing a mental framework,a written summary of what you want to accomplish.It helps in establishing a motivating image for change by using creativity to capture attention of clinical staff and take advantage of real clinical scenarios to stress the need for changes in practice.it helps in creating specific goals,focusing on short-term,attainable goals.it create a presentation that reflects the need for transforming the culture into an EBP environment.it helps in seeking administration support for the project to be identified as an organizational priority and helps in establishing a leadership team by identifying key personnel with a passion for EBP .EBP apply evidence to practice by conducting systematic search for available literature,critical appraisal of literature ,using clinical judgements to determine relevance and implementing practice changes and evaluate results.
