Health information technology has been a great part of nursing school. Technology has grown in such a positive way even if some people can argue against it. Being able to see the patients information at the hospital and clinicals have really made a change and a difference for my own personal learning in regards to how to treat the patient. Being able to have the patients history and information at a glance including medical information is extremely convenient. "It is also super important for the nurse to have because she is able to see lab results as soon as they come in. It it automatic for the nurse to see it on the computer and quick measures could be made." (Mcbride et al, 2018). It also makes communication between the interprofessional team easier and more efficient as everyone is on the same page. This health information technology can really help the nurse in their practice and the safety of the hospital and patient therefore increasing the overall quality of care provided.
