Compare and contrast Thomas Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence with Thomas Paine’s pamphlet "Common Sense." Which had the greater effect on revolutionary America? Are these documents still effective today?

Both Thomas Jefferson's Declaration of Independence with Thomas Paine's handout Common Sense were very comparable in all senses, except the tone. While Jefferson's file was written in a political sense, Paine's document was written to the typical welcoming them to join the battle for self-reliance. Both the files explained the oppression of the British Empire on individuals in the colonies. Both the files demanded the value of individuals as important decision-makers in the country. Both the documents didn't explicitly bring out the significance of God and faith, they both resolved a greater being and enlightened minds. Jefferson's document required the unity of the colonies, particularly the leaders against the British empire, while Paine's file called the common people to support the cause of the Declaration of Independence. In my opinion, Common Sense made the best impact as it was written in the commoner's language and both the files are still valid in terms of bringing out the value of the ruled and not the rulers, thus insisting on the democratic aspects of the country. They both maintained the significance of private rights over the kings or the rulers.
