Arthroscopy:-
Arthroscopy is an invasive surgical procedure done by the orthopaedic surgeon to visualise, diagnose and treat the problems inside the joint.
This procedure is done by following aseptic techniques.
In the procedure surgeon makes a small incision on the skin.
Through the incision surgeon inserts pencil-sized instruments that contain a small lens and lighting system (arthroscope) to magnify and illuminate the structures inside the joint.
Light is transmitted through fiber optics to the end of the arthroscope that is inserted into the joint.
Arthroscope will be connected to the TV camera which displays the pictures of structures inside the joint. Through the TV camera surgeon can visualize the joint structures.
After completion of procedure incision will be closed by a single suture.
