your partner and you should consult a genetic counsellor.

Because sickle cell anemia is a recessive genetic disorder and require two copies of altered allele to get the disease. The patient is healthy and his siblings are sickle celled. This means he should be a heterozygous individual. He may pass on the sickle cell allele to 50% of his children. His children will get the disease only if his wife also has the sickle cell allele in her DNA and passes it to the child. So, if the person and her partner consults a genetic counsellor, he will help them find out the condition of his partner’s DNA. If she too is heterozygous with one copy of sickle cell allele, then there is a chance of their kids being sickle celled and measures can be take accordingly. If she is homozygous and healthy, then there is absolutely no chance of their children to get the disease and there is no need to worry.
