Answer #1

Incidence rate is defined as the measure of the number of new cases divided by total number of population × 1000

In calculating the incidence rate of diabetes among the males only the population of males will be considered because it's apecific about diabetes among males .

For age group less than 35years , number of new cases ( males ) = 2

Total number of population( males ) less than 35years = 10000

Incidence rate = 2/10000× 1000

= 0.2 %

For age group 35-54 , number of new cases ( males ) = 10

Total number of population males with age between 35-54 = 5000

Incidence rate = 10/5000× 1000

= 2%

For age group 54-64 , number of new cases ( males ) = 7

Total number of males population with age between 54-64= 2200

Incidence rate = 7/2200× 1000

= 3.1%

For age group more than 65, number of new cases ( males ) = 53

Total number of males population with age more than 65 of years = 4780

Incidence rate = 53/4780 × 1000

= 11.08%
