The women suffers with shortness of breath ,feeling of faintness ,dizziness and productive cough for 2 months .

These are the symptoms of congestive heart failure.

Heart failure is an abnormal condition involving abnormal heart pumping.

It results in characteristic pathophysiologic changes of vasoconstriction and fluid retention.

pathophysiology:

• interference in the normal mechanisms regulating cardiac output .
• Weak heart causes to back up the fluid in the lungs causing shortness of breath
• Decreased systolic blood pressure cause increase in norepinephrine and epinephrine release leads to constriction of peripheral artery and increase force of LV contraction
• Due to increase systemic blood pressure there is increase of ADH and decrease renal flow causing sodium and water retention and peripheral edema
• Increase in force of LV contraction leads to hypoxia causing fatigue and dizziness
• Chronic heart failure causes enlargement of chambers of the heart causing alteration in normal electrical activity .

With the help of the above pathophysiology we can diagnose the patient with congestive heart failure .
