As a hospital manager or CEO, what steps would you take to ensure that a culture of safety exists for the protection of your patients and your staff members?

Ans) One of the the key values is to be a person of action instead of blaming others or ignoring safety problems be a ladder with the one to correct the safety issue. If this safety issue is one that you cannot fix yourself report itito t someone who can take the proper action to have the issue corrected.

- Another would be teamwork and communication. Communication is key in so many areas of life from to personal life.

- Communication is a Golden value in life.

- Steps that can be taken to ensure culture of safety:As education, team work training, executive Walk rounds and establishing Unit based safety teams. Also starting a rapid response team and structured communications.

Other points are:

• Assess your hospital’s current safety culture performance.

• Conduct Patient safety leadership Walk Rounds.

• Create a Reporting system

• Designate a person Patient safety officer

• Reenact Real adverse events from hospital

• Use a clear process to distinguish human errors from deliberately unsafe actions

• Leaders must adopt and model positive behaviors for all staff.

• Have policies in place that support a culture of safety and the reporting of adverse events.

• Recognize staff who report safety issues or have good ideas for improvement.

• Make team-based training focused on safety culture a part of future quality improvement projects or protocol changes.

• Regularly assess and review your hospital’s progress toward improving its safety culture.
