Answer #1

Capabilities of the EHR system :-

# Appointment Reminder and Confirmation

The system can be programmed to initiate automatic reminder or confirmation calls to patietns. The staff can record the reminders, and patients are prompted to choose options, such as "Press one," to confirm or reschedule appointments.

# Appointment Scheduler

Allows the staff to track and schedule appointments, matrix the schedule, and account for recurring time blocks. It can be merged into specific types with default times so that lenghty procedures are not scheduled in short appointment blocks.

# Prescription writer

Allows the staff to write the prescription with all the essential parameters of writing a prescription like dose , route etc and helps the staff to administer medication according to it .

# Medical billing system

Allows thr staff to easily do the billing for the patient as it time to time updates the charges placed on the patient for the services . Also it deals with the insurance and non - insurance patients .

# Eligibility verification

Allows the staffs to automatically get to know is the patient is eligible for the services or not by following some of the criteria

# Laboratory orders

Allows the staffs to get to know the lab results in less time by online method so that urgent interventions can be given to the patient as early as possible

All this capabilities allows the medical staffs to function smoothly without any delay . Hence ,they are able to provide the best health care services to the patients which helps in the early recovery and discharge . That's why it helps to enhance patient care
