Why is it important to safeguard a patient’s health information? What are some of the consequences that could happen to both the patient and the organization if health information is breached?

An individual's personal information is personal to them which they don't want to share with all of the people . In the same way health information is also a personal data about the health status of an individual which they don't want to share with everyone . So ,it's important to safeguard a patient's health information from breaching. It's the violation of the maintainence of the confidentiality of patients health information if health data breach occurs.

Some of the consequences that could happen to both the patient and the organisation if health information is breached are :-

- loss of confidentiality

- lack of trust

- penalties

- loss of data

- financial loss
