Deficient body fatness or underweight threatens survival during a famine or during diseases. Yet, young women aspire to be thin like models. Most obese people suffer a variety of chronic illnesses. Central obesity may be more hazardous to health than other forms of obesity. Fit people are healthier than unfit people of the same body fatness. Overfatness presents social and economic handicaps as well as physical ills. Judging people by their body weight is a form of prejudice in our society.
1. Why is central obesity of such concern as regards the health of an individual?
Central obesity is the most common obesity found today, it is the obesity in which the individual gains a lot of fats around his/her belly or abdomen, while it is physically seen in the body it indicates many health issues internally, for instance due to the fatness around the belly the body posture could be effected leading to lumbago which is scientific term for back pain, on a long term basis an individual can develop Lordosis. Other health issues related to central obesity involves metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular diseases, hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus type-2 etc.
