Comparison of Nurse, System and Quality Patient Care Outcomes in 8-Hour and 12-Hour Shifts

Answer: Nurse plays major role in Patient's life as they take care of the patient as well as also performs many other task in the healthcare organization. They work in shift and sometimes they have to work overtime. The 8 hour shift for the nurse includes as they work for 8 hours that is the normal timing duty. Hence the working hour is accurate, the quality of care provided to the patients is more enhanced and improved. The nurse can take care of the patient properly which increases the positive outcomes in response of the patient whereas working 12 hour shift decreases the quality of care give to the patient as nurse get easily exhausted so, the quality of care decreases. This shift also causes burn out in the nurses which causes fatigue in them.
