Person at risk for the pressure ulcers. Pressure ulcers occur when skin , soft tissues and blood vessels are compressed or squeezed between a bony prominence and external surface such as wheel chair cushion.

We can protect person from friction and shearing during moving him in bed by following techniques:-

- by rolling the person,

- using friction reducing devices,

- two or more staff members should be there to move heavy, weak and old persons up in the bed,

- use a lift sheet,

- by using a turning pad, large incontinence board, slide board.

We should help the patient in repositioning in every 2 hours . -It improves blood circulation.

-It helps in keep skin healthy and prevents bed sores.

-Turning the patient is good time to check skin redness and sores.
