Answer #1

Hydrochlorothiazide is an effective antihypertensive drug whivh is called as a water pill. The main effect of it is by excreting the sodium via glomerular filtration process in th kidney acting as a diuretic and reducing the blood pressure.Taking this medication can lead to hyponatremia ,alteration in the electrolyte in general and there are side effects like irregular heart beat or arrhythmia, tachycardia or Bradycardia, confusion, music weakness

A Basic Metabolic Panel or Complete Metabolic Panel gives a clear description of all electrolytes (sodium, potassium, calcium, chloride)BUN ,Bicarbonate and blood glucose level.

So a BMP with HR will be indicated to the patient for monitoring. This will help to provide and calculate the maintainace dose for the patient .The test is done at 4 weeks.
