ANSWER.

Steps for preparing suction a client on a ventilator who desaturates easily.

        1) Assess the lung sounds.

                    Assessing the lung sound helps to decide need for a suction.

       2) Hyperoxigenate the patient.

                   To avoid hypoxia during or after suctioning.

      3) Insert suction catheter.

      4) Apply suction.

      5) Monitor for adverse effects.

                Common adverse effects are Low oxygen saturation,blood stained secretions

                high blood pressure etc.
