Answer #1

Patient's weight = 200 lbs (divide with 2.2 to get mass in kgs)

                        = 200 \div 2.2 = 90. 90 kgs (rounded to 91 kgs)

Order is 20 mg/kg/day = 20 \times 91 = 1820 mg

Available medication - 500mg/10 ml

The easy to remember nursing formula is what you want \times what you have \div what's in it

                       = 1820 mg \times 10 ml \div 500mg

                       = 36.4 ml

36 ml of medicine is to be received for each dose and (36 \times 2 = 72) 72 ml of medicine to be given per day.
