An integrated delivery system is an organization or group of affiliated organizations in which hospitals and physicians combine all their activities to deliver comprehensive health care services. Because of its advantages or benefits there is an increased need for the development of integrated health care delivery system

Advantages - physicians may benefit from include cost-effective administration, improved access to other providers and support systems, access to a broader range of support services, financial strength and security, increased customer satisfaction, access to educational resources, ownership potential,etc

Integrated delivery systems reduce costs and improve health care quality. Integraged delivery systems reduce costs for both the patient and the organization. In an integrated delivery system, administrative processes may be centralized and overhead may be reduced.
