Answer #1

According to the blood gas reports of Lori it shows

PaO2: 75mmhg,PaCO2:50mmhg,RV 2250ml,FVC 2680ml,FEV1 2420 ml

Normal Po2 is 80-100 mmHg but the report shows a lower PO2 which shows the patient is hypoxic or oxygen deprived along with a higher pco2 whose normal is 35-48 and the value is 50mmhg shows that the blood is acidic and the pH would be in a lower side so considering both these factors it shows the patient is hypoventilated because the co2 is not flushed out adequately.Hypoventilation is also backed by the residual lung volume which is the volume of air which remains in the lung after each exhalation for gas exchange the normal is between 1.2-1.5ml whereas here the residual lung volume is 2.2 l which is higher .this shows that the patient has an obstructive pulmonary function and in most cases the diagnosis of Lori is probably chronic obstructive pulmonary Disease COPD
