The blood smear is a thin layer of blood which is smeared on the glass slide which is a microscopic slide observed under the microscope. The blood is stained in such a way that it allows the various blood types to be observed under the microscope.
The blood smeared on the above given slide is not a good smear because:
- the smear should be very thinly done
- the blood smear should be from one end to the other
- the blood is not completely dried out
The improvement which can be done are:
- take only one drop of blood for the purpose of smearing
- the blood should be on the top edge of the slide
- then the smear should be done by using another glass slide over the first one and on top of the drop of the blood
- the smear should be only in one direction and should be made very thinly
- once the smearing is done the blood should be allowed to dry out
This will allow to get a very decent and proper blood smear test
