1.Why was Lincoln called the great emancipator?

He basically was someone who liberated people and gave justice.

2.Why was the slavery issue so difficult for Lincoln in 1861-2?

He wanted to maintain northern unity and he believed he had no right to step in and change anything.

3.What were the radicals doing in order to change the South's cruel ways?

There was a powerful faction forming that led slavery to utter its extinction.

4.How does Lincoln's view on slavery effect the union?

It effects the union because they believe that he is the great emancipator and that he will liberate the African Americans. It also effected the union because they wanted the slaves to be free.

5.Why did Lincoln issue the emancipation proclamation?

To abolish slavery in all federal territories.

Yes it changed his view. He believed that justice was meant to be served and his proclamation stated that for every slave they set free they would receive $400

Slavery was to be left untouched in stated that returned to the union before January 1,1863 .... There after all slaves in enemy territory conquered by union armies would be forever free.

The british believed it was a blind decision were as the abolitionists were delighted they believed it was a huge weight lifted from their shoulders. Sum believed that Lincoln turned the war into a revolution.

The act to prohibit slavery in any state under the United States of America.

10.Who freed the slaves?

The union freed them by defeating the confederacy.
