  • It contains the heartiest food and also include baked food.
  • One can calculate the level of carbohydrate intake.
  • the diet plan helps to reduce the weight.
  • The diet manages the cholesterol level and minimizes the high- fat content.

The cons of Atkin's diet plan

  • It does not provide enough energy for the body.
  • The diet plan does not contain enough fruits, vegetables, and grain which result in vitamin deficiency.
  • There is an increased risk for halitosis, constipation, and dehydration.
  • It increases the risk of kidney problems, heart disease, osteoporosis, and liver disease.
  • Counting every intake of carbohydrate increases the additional burden.
  • The diet has to be continued otherwise the person will regain the weight again.

The ephedra is a natural Chinese herb contains ephedrine and pseudoephedrine which constricts the blood vessels. It promotes weight loss by suppressing the appetite. But it increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. It has major side effects of increased blood pressure, palpitation, nausea, vomiting, insomnia. The Food and Drug Administration of the U.S has banned the herb ephedra. The dietary supplements also contain some possible effects. Besides, exercise benefits to control weight. Exercise burns calories by increasing metabolism. It helps to burn the fat content and to maintain ideal body weight. Exercise along with a proper diet helps to control body weight instead of having supplements.
