Answer #1

Evaluation of survive and thrive training program by public health professional by incorporating systems management:

1. The Survive and Thrive Program has an evaluation component to allow program officials to assess the progress of the program and also to provide continuous quality improvement. The Survive and Thrive evaluation will implement an integrated mixed-methods assessment and multisource system to collect stakeholder feedback. The evaluation should provide information about how well Survive and Thrive meets its program goals.

2.Robust evaluation by CQI(Continous quality improvement) :

The purpose of continuous quality improvement programs is to improve health care by identifying problems, implementing and monitoring corrective action and studying its effectiveness. Standard A-06 is meant to ensure that a correctional facility uses a structured process to find areas in the health care delivery system that need improvement, and that when such areas are found, staff develop and implement strategies for improvement. An essential element of quality improvement is the monitoring of high-risk, high-volume or problem-prone aspects of health care; not every aspect of every major service needs to be studied. General areas of study include access to care, the intake process, continuity of care, emergency care and adverse patient events, including all deaths.

3.The Survive and Thrive program incorporates a curriculum that is designed to address the challenges faced by a new LHO( local health officials.) It seeks to address these issues by balancing the expertise of the current generation of local public health leadership by incorporating experienced LHOs as coaches. Coaching, mentoring, and peer assistance by seasoned LHOs is critical to these new learning opportunities. Actual examples of its relevance to the professional growth and development of new LHOs and the coaches themselves are presented.

4.The evaluation process meets the following specific objectives: (a) to provide an integrated programmatic assessment,(b) to utilize a multi-source system that presents 360 degree feedback on relative effectiveness and impact from major program stakeholders; (C) o identify Best Practices and advance General Recommendations for continuous quality improvement; and (d) to provide a standardized process that documents survive and thrive training effectiveness with respect to the NPHPS (National Public health performance standards) criteria, including overall programmatic effectiveness and impact. The evaluation process is conducted across program years and training sites to ensure continuous quality improvement of the survive and thrive training program nationwide.
