nationwide provide EHR to avoid patient medical errors and
eliminate paper records. Accountable care organizations (ACO)
provide cost-effective, coordinated care to medicare users. Health
and Human Services(HHS) and ONC improve EHR interoperability. using
the data and access to EHR technology, effective care coordination
makes ACOs ensure better health for patients.RHIOs(Regional health
information organization)share health-related information
electronically and accept HIT standards including user-interface
features with the EHR system of the stakeholders. HIE(Health
Information Exchange) allows physician, nurse and other health care
providers to access and secure patient information electronically.
It improves safety, quality and reduces the cost of patient
care.
ACO faces challenges from physician burnout because of EHR managing
workload due to incomplete data, poor coordination of care.ACOs
help HIEs to offer service network. There is a lack of provider
adoption and necessary information and a lack of accuracy in data
and risk stratification. RHIOs sharing problems with system
utilization, user experience leads to less usage of HIE. HIE has
challenges in increasing provider adoption, implementation, HIE
system over different geographic regions.
