Hello, in a scenario I have a patient admited for intermittent fevers with a PMH of liver transplants x 2 currently taking immunosuppressants for this purpose and colon cancer. A recent C/T was performed indicating extensive mesenteric lymphadenopathy with enlarged lymph nodes (concerning for metastatic disease). Currently the client has non-oliguric AKI and suspected tubular necrosis from a progressive pre-renal state due to losses from these fevers and contrast exposure.

As the nurse what are my priorities when taking care of a patient like this and what are my concerns?

Thank you!

Answer #1

As a nurse u have to strictly look after his urine output.

Strict monitoring over the administration of steroids and antibiotics and also look for analgesics as many r contraindicated bcoz of liver transplantion
