Describe three risks involved when caregivers are culturally different from the people they serve. Based on your readings, how can each of these risks best be minimized.(250 words)

The care givers and the care receivers are not always ought to be coming from same culture or same background or same place. It is the work of the care provider to always make herself ready to take care of any kind of patient despite of his/ her colour, sex, race, ethnicity etc. There will be some risks involved while handling the care receivers being of different culture. They are:

1. Inference or understandings: a patient may not be able to take or infer the nurse's advice properly as they might have different perspective of thinking for the same matter.

2. Preference: the patient might not prefer to be attended by the nurse who is from different background than hers as She might think that making her understand will waste her time.

3. Violation of certain territories: the nurse might violate the certain territories where she was not even allowed to discuss about.

The solutions that might be helpful are as follow:

- the caregiver should always be very polite and try to understand the patient and his cultural practices

- it is always better to ask before act

- always try to provide privacy to the patient

- always try to communicate by involving your own cultural talks to make her share hers to you

- never violate her practices which can make her angry and frustrated
