in order to prepare for moving your outpatient coders to telecommuting positions, your HR department has requested you to complete a job analysis on the outpatient coding position, in order to determine what, if any, changes will need to be made to the coding job description, and/or other positions in the department. Review the Job Analysis Sample, then use the Job Analysis Form to list the major duties from the OP coder job description defining what competencies or skills are needed, other resources (such as coding software, fax, email, e-conferencing tools), and how important (priority) each duty is.   

Part II:   Write a memo to the HR Director summarizing what changes (if any) you will need to make to the job description duties, after completing your job analysis.

Subject - Amendment in the job description of medical coders

I am writing this letter to inform that in view of moving our outpatient coders to telecommunications position we need to do certain changes in the job description of the medical coders .

As our organisation continues to grow , we feel it necessary to do some changes in job description for the productive outcome . I am attaching the job responsibilities of the medical coder for review .

Medical coder responsibilities Part 1:-

Research & reference checking of medical records. Accurately coding the primary & secondary diagnoses & procedures using International Classification of Diseases codes or ICD-9 codes & CPT codes, also known as, Current Procedural Terminology. Issued by American Medical Association.

Medical coder responsibilities Part 2:-

Medical coders abstract & compile data from medical records regarding hospital, physician, and other professional services in order to obtain appropriate optimal reimbursement.
