She does not recognize the name of the drug but notes a charge of $4,000 for the drug. Her curiosity aroused, the nurse checks the drug and discovers it should not be administered more frequently than every six weeks and any patient receiving it should be carefully monitored at 15- minute intervals. The patient tells her he received the same medication just two weeks previously. What should the nurse do? In checking the drug is the nurse practicing risk management? Explain your answer.

Here the nurse is required to give the medication to the client and found that the medication is very effective it should be given with an interval of 6 weeks. Here the nurse duty is to follow the doctor prescription but it was found to be very risk because the patient had already received two weeks earlier.

During this situation the nurse should immediately stop providing the drug and approach the prescribed physician for the further classification. This would prevent the patient from sever complication and get treated well.
