Answer: The pharmacological action of non opioid analgesic is that it inhibits the COX which inhibits the pain and inflammation.

Therapeutic use: The use of Non opioid analgesic is to reduce pain and inflammation. It is also used after the surgery.

Medical administration: Paracetamol is usually given to the patients. The 500mg of dose can produce positive affects in adults.

Nursing intervention:

• Nurse should monitor the need of the drug.
• Nurse should measure the pain intensity.
• Nurse should not exceed the dose more than 352-650 mg every 4-6 hours.
• Before providing medication, nurse should intervene the medical history of the patient. In case of liver disease, this drug should not be given.

Nursing interventions for central venous catheter:

Outcomes: There should be no infection near the area of the catheter.

Interventions:

• Nurse should wash hand properly as well as clean the area where the catheter will be applied.
• Monitor for any kind of leakage etc.
• Nurse should clean the catheter as well as try to prevent from the moisture.
• If any sign of moisture present, dry the area quickly.
• Ask patient regarding the comfort.
• Intervene about any symptom of infection.
