Healthcare disparities
Disparity means the state of being unequal or it refers to the differences. Healthcare disparities refers to the differences in healthcare such as health insurance coverages, access or availability and use of healthcare and quality of care between population groups.
( where as a health disparity means one main group suffering with increased rate of illness, disability or death when comparing with another population group. For example: Native Americans; Death rates is 50 % higher in Native Americans when comparing with other Whites in US.)
Healthcare disparities may caused due to various factors such as language and cultural barriers, unequal distribution of health services , improper organization, finance and delivery of health care, availability of support system, discrimination and inadequate health coverage.

* low income groups ( poor quality care)
* Elderly population
* Coloured people ( low income and uninsured status)
* residents of rural areas ( limited access to healthcare and private coverages)
* women and children
* Certain ethnic group such as Hispanics , blacks ( less visits for the dental or eye check ups)
Affordable Care Act ,2010 extended the coverage of health insurance to millions and improved access to healthcare and insurance coverage for many subgroups and population , thosr who are facing disparities.
