EHR is a systematized collection of patient health information in a digital format, which can be  shared with different health care settings.

Benefits of EHRs:

1. Accurate health information at the time of care.

Health records of client are easily shifted to the authorised hospitals with patient's concern. The updated health information helps clinicians in providing proper treatment at the point of care.

2. Safer sharing of health information.

It reduces the workload to the health care professionals as well as shares patient information safely and effectively. It helps in proper reviewing and continuous care of the client.

Obstacles of EHRs:

1. Financial issues.

It is so costly to purchase and install EHR hardware and sotware, Maintenance cost and training of end users also adds to this.

2. Increased medical errors.

The patients information can be uploaded anytime by the clinicians, thus ending up with wrong reports. It may also cause over dependence on technology.
