Long term use of some medicine like anticonvulsant and glucocorticoids and gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists leads to bone density loss and cause a fracture. Osteoporosis is a structural deterioration of bone tissue and loss of bone mass makes the bone fragile and causes the risk of fracture.
For example:
chronic glucocorticoids use causes low bone remodeling and low bone turn over. the primary action of osteoblasts reduces replication and alters the maturation it decreases the bone cell function and impairment inability and causes bone damage.
