a) z score corresponding to X =51

z = x - µ/ σ = 51 - 61 / 8 = 10 / 8 = -1.25


b) Area under normal curve to the left for the given z-score

P ( Z<−1.25 )=1−P ( Z<1.25 )=1−0.8944=0.1056

c) Area under normal curve to the right for the given z-score

P ( Z>−1.25 )=P ( Z<1.25 )=0.8944
