Answer #1

we have given that:

X~N(mu,sigma²)

mean(mu)=47

sigma=11

formula: z= (x-mu)/sigma

Z=(x-mu)/sigma

a.)

if x=35

then z= (35-47)/11=-12/11=-1.090909≈-1.09(ans)

b).

we have given that

prob(z<-1.09)=0.1377

this imply that

prob(X<35)=0.1377(ans)

c).

prob(x>35)

=1-prob(x≤35)

=1- 0.1377

=0.8623(ans)

thanks!
