The nitrogenous. base, uracil is normally only found in RNA, but in some rare case, uracil nucleotides are observed in DNA.

1) RNA primers are introduced during DNA replication, primers are RNA which contains uracil, so just after replication uracil can be found in the DNA. these uracils are removed when primers are removed and DNA is replaced in that position.

2) uracil can be introduced in the DNA via the deamination of cytosine, these uracils are removed by the uracil DNA glycosylases, these remove the nitrogenase base that is uracil by breaking the N-glycosidic linkage in the nucleotides so an abasic site is created ( a position without nitrogenous base ) then AP nuclease cleaves there and removes some more nucleotides then DNA polymerase I will polymerise DNA at that position.
