As provided in the question, the three kingdoms - Fungi, Protists and Plants are to be compared and contrasted for unity and diversity.
As far as the unity is concerned.
1. All the three kingdoms have eukaryotic organisms (that means the organisms which have well developed nucleus- Nucleus with the nuclear membrane, nucleoplasm and nucleolus. Inside the nucleoplasm genetic material occurs in the form of linear thread like structures called chromosomes. These chromosomes are actually DNA-protein complexes in which the DNA is associated with histones and other proteins.Moreover the presence of the membrane bound organelles like Mitochondria, Endoplasmic reticulum, Vacuoles, Plastids in case of photosynthetic forms etc is also there).
2. In all the three kingdoms, cell wall is present outside the cell membrane (except some forms in protists)
However the composition of cell wall varies. In Photosynthtic protists, cell wall is made up of cellulose. In fungi, it is made up of fungal chitin (N-acetylglucosamine) or cellulose in some groups. In Plants it is made of cellulose, hemicellulose, pectin and other materials.
3. Photosynthetic protists resemble plants, slime moulds resemble fungi and protozoans resemble with animals.
As far as the diversity is concerned:
1. Kingdom protista includes onlu unicellular eukaryotes (except a few which have been placed in Kingdom plantaeor fungi). No multicellular forms in this group. This group is heterogenous as far as the organisms are concerned. In this group there are Photosynthetic protists (autotrophs), Slime moulds (Decomposers) and protozoan protists (Heterotrophs/parasites).
2. Majority of organisms in Kingdom fungi or plants are multicellular except a few (Yeast in Fungi and Chlamydomonas in plants). Plants are autotrophs (show oxygenic photosynthesis) while fungi are saprotrophs or decomposers.
3. Fungi normally reproduces by spore formation or sexual reproduction while as plants have vegetative, or sexual reproduction.
The examples of Protistans are Euglena, Diatoms, Plasmodium, Paramecium, Amoeba etc.
The examples of Fungi are Yeasts, Moulds, Mushrooms, Truffles, mildews etc.
The examples of Plants are algae, bryophytes (Marchantia), Ferns, Mosses, angiosperms (flowering plants) gymnosperms.
