d) Since the p value of the test is less than the significance level of 0.01 we have sufficient evidence to reject the null hypothesis and support our claim. This we conclude that the data provides strong statistical evidence that the average SENS reading for the after treatment is lower than before treatment.

So option A will be correct.

e) we have 2 response values per individual (before treatment and after treatment) and since they are of the same individual we expected them to be correlated and not independent. But there is no such thing as correct or incorrect p-value here, each test gives it's different p-value it's just that we cannot apply independent test here.

Moreover to apply independent samples t test we need to assume that the population variances of the two groups are equal. In paired t test there is lesser variation in the data values. So here option b is correct.
