Answer #1

There are 52 cards in a standard deck of cards

1)

There are 13 spade cards in a standard deck of cards

Thus, the probability of selecting a spade = 13/52 = 1/4 = 0.25

2)

There are 4 queens in a standard deck of cards

Thus, the required probability = 4/52 = 1/13 = 0.077

3)

Probability that the selected card is a Non - Queen

= 1 - 1/13 = 12/13 = 0.923

4)

There are 2 red queens in a standard deck of cards

Thus, the required probability = 2/52 = 1/26 = 0.038

5)

There is 1 queen of Spades in a standard deck of cards

Thus, the required probability = 1/52 = 0.019

6)

Probability that a randomly selected card is Queen or Spade = P(Queen) + P(Spade) - P(Queen of spade)

= 4/52 + 13/52 - 1/52 = 4/13 = 0.308
