ans: The ancient Greek philosophers knew that the earth was round,& also draw a  conclusion on hard evidence,which is observable by anyone, even without the telescopes. The shadow of the earth falls on the moon during a lunar eclipse proofs by the progression of the changing shape of its edges suggests that both the Earth and the Moon are round. This shape progression is the same for whatever time of the day or the day of the year that eclipse occurs.
