1) Transpiration in plants - It is process of absorbing moisture through roots to small pores called stomata on leaves and evaporation of water into vapor through the stomata.

Correct option is water is lost into the environment through stomata. The process of absorption of Water through root hairs is called osmosis. So, it is wrong option.

2) If the cells in the root cap are removed, roots will no longer respond to the gravity because these root caps contain statocytes that are involved in the gravity perception in the plants.

3) Ring barking is a procedure that was commonly used in Australia to kill unwanted trees in farming districts. Ring barking works by cutting a groove to a depth of several centimeters into the bark of the tree, with the groove completely encircling the tree. But this procedure cause death of tree because no sugars can be transported from the leaves to the roots.

This is due to damage of phloem tissue only but not xylem tissue which involves in transportation of water.

4) According to pressure flow hypothesis, the movement of phloem sap from sources to sink tissues is caused by pressure difference between the source and sink. Movement of water and nutrients through the xylem created by the negative pressure/tension and movement through the phloem is driven by the positive pressure.
