Firstly we must recall the definition of density , density is equal to mass per unit volume

here it is given in terms of g/cm^3

The volume of mercury we have is 2.0 L which must be converted to cm^3 in order to get it's unit matched with the units given for density

1 L = 1000 cm^3

So 2.0 L = 2000 cm^3

As density =mass/volume

Mass = density *volume = 13.8g/cm^3 *2000cm^3 = 27.6*1000g

Mass of mercury = 27.6 kg
