Steam distillation is better method as compared to CO₂ extraction , for the isolation of Pure eugenol.

In Steam distillation, the extract is precisely recovered after colling down the vapour , once the solution  containing eugenol is heated within a range of specified temperature .

But in CO₂ Extraction procdure , there is chances of loosing a percentage of eugenol may not mixed completely with pressurized Carbon dioxide.
