Answer #1

Answer 1:

For sample size to be considered large np and n(1 – p) should be greater than or equal to 10.

In this case n = 100 and p = 80/100 = 0.8

n*p = 100*0.8 = 80 > 10

n(1 – p) = 100*(1-0.8) = 20 > 10

Since both the condition are met, we can say that sample size is large enough.

We need to construct the 95% confidence interval for the population proportion. We have been provided with the following inf

Answer 2:

We need to construct the 90% confidence interval for the population proportion. We have been provided with the following info

Answer 3:

We need to construct the 99% confidence interval for the population proportion. We have been provided with the following info

Answer 4:

90% Confidence Interval is (0.734, 0.866)

95% Confidence Interval is (0.722, 0.878)

99% Confidence Interval is (0.697, 0.903)

From the Answer 1 to 3, we can see that as the level of confidence increases, width of confidence interval also increases. This is because as the level of confidence increases, critical z value increases. The increase in critical z value increase the margin of error.
